Bad Gas 3 Years, 5 Months ago

Last Friday,was gonna take the wife out for a ride before i went to california for a wedding.Woe....wouldn`t start.The week before had gone riding,everything running good filled up on way home as I always do.So drained the tank,lines,filter,pump,bowl.Battery was dead,charged it that night,but I didn`t get back till late sunday to try it.
Today put 2 1/2 gallons fresh fuel,started great and i went and filled it up and took a 130 mile jaunt all is well got 39mpg`s.( better than I`ve been getting)Love my Big Red.
Should have caught this sooner but it just didn`t register.My engine light on my Golf has also been coming on and off on me for abought the last tow months.Yep fill the car up at the same place.A Sinclar Station.
Well from now on it`s just Chevron for me,I don`t care what country
owns it.No ethanol just Oxygenated(what ever that means)
NOW I HAVE A FULL 5 GALLON CAN OF GAS ON MY HANDS,does anyone know if there is anything I can do to it so I can a least run it in the car?
My Mom`s husband(long time motorcycle rider)say you can add alcohol to it and the water will adhere to it and let you run it.But I was wondering if anybody else had heard of this.Thanks for listening.vegas

dvblair: Has anyone cut off the heel portion of the shifter? I never use it and would like to have the extra room. I would like to remove it but it looks like you would need a spacer on the shaft and I'm not sure ...
