Re:What was your setup when you had SVS? 3 Years, 8 Months ago
when the bike was running bad I had the same setup, just i didnt have the PMS right.I am running the dynojet 200 main and orient express valve springs.bike was dynoed by a reputable tech.when the bike was running like complete crap I took the heads off, went to the shop and the valves were NOT stuck, sticky ect!after talking to my tech, we agreed slightly more seat pressure would'nt hurt so i purchased the new valve springs.and took the bike back to have it sniffed.actually i could prolly go to a dynojet 210!anyways NO svs after 4k miles. I have however changed the way I warm up the bike. and I make sure the idle speed is not to slow. seems the same as Thom M.
my next purchases at tax return time will include a tachometer.and the next time a take the engine apart a big bore will be added. there is no replacement for displacement.. lol.

Re:What was your setup when you had SVS? 3 Years, 8 Months ago
Doc thanks for the info. the bike is still on warranty until Feb 09 so I have to be careful when I am talking to the dealer, so far he seems to give a s*** And he is slowly opening to the possibility of svs exisisting If I am going to keep the bike I will want to do the heads & valve springs. Any suggestion on the heads, such as reaming the valve guides & if so how much? OR is there a place I can buy exchange heads. I just want to ride the bike not worry about it
Thanks again

Yes ... you can ream the guides yourself.

At one time there used to ba a 'loaner' reamer floating around on the RSC Forum. I don't know if it's still around.

As others have said ... putting in stiffer springs also helps.

If you have the earlier 1700 heads you can buy the new valves and have the heads ground to accommodate them but I don't think you need to go that far.

But then .... if it's under warrenty, all the work should be covered.
