Front brake cabling 3 Years, 4 Months ago
OK....put the Nostalgia bar on last night. Tried to rerun the front brake line under the triple tree, but it won't fit through the forks to save my life!

Am I blind, stupid or both? Anyone rerouted this line without having to remove the brake line from the reservoir? My brakes are like me....neither of us like to bleed!

It doesn't look bad the way it is, just would look nicer to have it hidden away.

Thanks all....greeny

Looks like a longer brake line is in your future. Here's the one I finally had to go with. 4"+ over stock.

Actually, I think the length is fine. I'm just wanting to reroute the brake line through the forks. Right now, it's in front of the forks and I want it behind the forks. The reservoir is just a little too big to fit through the forks is my opinion. Again maybe I'm just blind.

That SS brake line would look cool though.

Thanks....greeny

Ah, I thought we were talking length... :0)

TIP: If you remove the brake line from the reservior, make your changes and reinstall the line to the reservior. Hold the end of the line so you don't loose fluid.

*** You won't need to bleed your brake lines at the calipers. There will be air in there, though.

1. Remove the cap and diaphram.
2. Tap on the line about 12" away from the reservoir and press/depress the lever many times. You'll see the bubbles come up inside the reservoir.
3. Once you have good pressure, close it up and you're done.

Takes 5 minutes.

Hope that helps ya.
