Well, both. Been off the bike for many years so this winter will be only 2nd in a long time. I got all the electric clothing I need, undergarments, and outer garments with protection built in and a myriad of other things. I'm covered all they way down to what it will go and then some.

The bike I will start on like next month.

hey guys when i do winterize my bike in a few months, I should change the oil before i put her away right? I always do but this is the first bike i have had that i run synthetic in...should i change it to synthetic? or just use dino oil since i will probably want to change the oil again early in the season in say march...i dont really want to waste the extra money for synthetic just to change it again without using it much
which dino oil should i use if i go back to dino

Here in Middle Tennessee, it's not so bad. January and February can get pretty bitter... I'm going to ride for as long as I can stand it.

Speaking of winterizing: Dumb question of the day: What do you do to winterize a bike?

My ritual was always, Put the pike up on the center stand/ jack to get the tires off of the ground to prevent odd wear of the tires. Make sure the antifreeze is adequate (YAY FOR AIR COOLED R*!!!) Add stabilizer to the full fuel tank. make sure the carb bowl is empty. hook up the battery tender. change the oil even if it didn't need it. wash the bike, wax the bike, cover the bike. and than to start crying like a baby because its going to be a long winter!

Thanks! I appreciate it. Winter sucks... I hate it. I'm certain that Tennessee is the farthest north and the farthest east I will ever live.

I just noticed a real chill in the air the other morning, I do LOVE fall and winter. Good for deer hunting and putting a fire in the wood stove. The getting bundled up and heading to the trail with the dog and seeing your breath, this is going to be my first winter with the metal plate in my leg and all those screws, that might not work out so well...lol.
But I do enjoy riding my motorcycle after all the real bikers have put theirs away.
Its dark and cold when I leave and dark and cold when I come home on the bike. All it means is a longer warm up, ten minutes or so, no jumping on it and going with the choke on.
I look forward to the other side of riding that 95% of the HARD CORE bikers don't do...
