Well, here's what I've found so far:

1) Handling is really, really good! Not much cornering clearance, but just a pleasure to arc through the turns.

2) Brakes are great.

3) Lots of wind coming up from under the windshield. Lowers are on the way.

4) No V-twin should ever have exhaust this quiet! Khrome Werks tapered are shipping today.

5) I guess mine is a "knocker." This is really my only disappointment, the one thing that I'm really scared is unfixable. It's just like I've read about all over the net: A loud knock under light-to-medium load after the bike is warmed up. It's really almost embarrassing. My wife has so far been polite about it haha. After the financial hoops I jumped through to get the R*, she and I are sort of looking at the thing wondering how in the world Yamaha could produce something that made such obviously unpleasing mechanical noises and not fix the problem after eight years. Very un-yamaha like....I've owned many of their products.

So, if anyone has the answer to the "knock" I'd sure be appreciative. I have a theory that some R*s knock and some don't, and that is perhaps the difference between the R* enthusiasts and those who've moved on.

Without the knock, this would be the perfect bike for me!
