Don't get me started on insurance. I have NEVER had a claim on my auto insurance, and I've had insurance for over 10 years with this company. I pay about $1000/yr for my bike, about $1000/yr for my 1998 Saturn, about $1200 for my 2005 Montana van, and I am picking up a 2004 Dodge Ram tonight that will set me back another $1300/yr.
Sorry for the rant!
Back on tpoic,
slyguy, you gotta get what motivates you. If a Wing does that, then I say go for it!

Wings are nice if you like the style. A lot of folks don't realize just how fast they are, they'll blow away ANY cruiser/tourer and hold there own against many crotch rockets.

A goldwing, in the hands of someone that truly knows how to ride it, is a thing of beauty. I rode with a guy on a wing and I was on my sport bike. Watching him kick up his floorboards and hit the corners as hard as he was had to be one of the coolest things I've seen a rider do.

I was actually going to chime in about that. I ride with two guys on Goldwings, and I gotta tell ya, they seem to do more than fine on the twisties.
I second.. or third, or fourth that. Whatever it is. Anyway, I ride with a fellow who has a Goldwing and its retarded how hard he can ride that thing.. kind of hilarious really, cause he rolls up to bike night with his 3/4 helmet, microphone, on his wing with LED accent lighting and such, looking like.. a highway pounder. But if you look close, there's evidence of a bike that is not unfamiliar to intense riding.. ground up floorboard, scratched/scraped skidpans... yep, had the opportunity to go for a ride in B.C. with him and I saw a Goldwing do things I never though possible for abike that size. So, as for advice.. as long as you ride it and enjoy it.. give her!
