Battery Tender? 3 Years, 8 Months ago
Youse Guys use the battery tender? Looked at one the other day... in Maintainence it only put out 750ma. Don't seem like much. I have a 2 amp trickle charger but I have to remove the seat to charge. Someone said the Bat tender had a ready plug that stays on the Battery all the time.

Yes ... you want one less than 1 Amp.

They usually come with an adaptor that attaches to the battery. The trickle charger then plugs into the adaptor. You can hide the adaptor so it hangs under the seat a bit so you don't have to take the seat off.

Nice to have over the winter, although 2 weeks was the longest I went last winter without going for a ride. Rode one day when it was 7 degrees out.

I haven't had the occation to use one yet... (It's pretty rare the bike sits for more than a day...)
But, when my boat sits for weeks at a time I plug a couple of

these, that I got at the Big Box Mart, onto the batteries and when I am ready (or, have money for gas... ) They're ready too... They put out about 125mA and have a built in protection system... (But they only work during the day...) But, even cloudy ones...

Otherwise, I'll use this one

Also, from the Big Box Mart Too...

But, if money's no object and you're really into the whole "V-Twin" thing... Then this is the tender for you...!

Yep... I use a Battery Tender also.... No need to lift the seat, just add the pigtail to the battery and leave it hanging out from one corner of the seat. Just plug'er in and your all set.

My battery tender is starting the bike once a week when I am off. I lift the garage door and fire her up when its to snowy to ride. I got myself a full face helmet this year just for winter riding, that half shell wasn't cutting it.
I got that HJC with the built in sun shade that pops down, kinda like built in sun glasses. You know for riding in those white outs up here...

I travel a lot so I use the Battery Tender when I'm gone for more than two weeks. I have the pigtail run down behind the frame and I tuck it up into the side panel when I'm not using it.
