That rattle comes from the the baffles where they slip onto the head pipes..take them out and you should have no more rattle...

Hey slyguy....

Don't know how to link to a post so I'll cut and paste a reply I posted to someone looking at the Samson Shogun Cannons awhile back. Regards.....greeny

Hi Darek...

I went with the Samson Shogun Cannons about a year and a half ago and quite frankly were the worst pipe I've ever had on a bike. The top pipe turned gold on the first day of riding. Granted, it was 500 miles in 100 degree heat, but I would still think the pipe should be able to hold up to that. They had a loud flutter as well on decel. Some like that, some don't. To me it sounded like a hotrod on decel. Last thing, the heat shields appeared to shrink over time as well. There was an ever-increasing gap between the heat shields and the slipon portion of the exhaust. I kept adjusting the shields back to fill the gap until they would go back any further. I believe they just slowly shrunk over time.

Maybe I just got ahold of a bad set, or maybe it was something with my particular Roadstar. Bottom line though is that I would not purchase another set of these pipes.

I eventually swapped them out with the Roadhouse 2-into-1 pipe and have never looked back. I highly recommend Roadhouse pipes, but didn't see them on your list so they may not be the look you're going for.

Regards....greeny

Gold would go with my bike.

These aren't the ones I really want. I really want the freedom duallys. Just they're almost twice as much as the samsons. The crack I have is behind the floorboard about 4 inches on the bottom pipe. Its not as bad as DKLAZ, but is in the same place as his. I can live with them for a while. Ideally, DKLAZ and I would get replacements from HK, but these pipes are over 4 years old and I got over 35K miles out of them, so I'm not hopeful.

I've been running the Samson Street Sweepers on mine for about a year now and have been very happy with them. No discoloration, no rusting, and they sound killer when you get on it (everyone says my bike sounds like a very healthy small block Chevy).

Just don't expect any of your friends to ride on your left if you get them as they are pretty loud. lol
