Squeaky front end... 1 Month, 2 Weeks ago
My front wheel has developed an annoying squeaking since I removed the wheel and replaced it, after my flat, a couple of weeks ago. Any ideas what it could be? Brakes or axle, I guess... Just not sure what to do about it.

Could be wheel cocked and rotor is rubbing against caliper.

But ... raise if up and start spinning the wheel to find where it coming from.

Sounds like a good start. I'll do it tomorrow. Thanks, Doc.

Okay... I lifted the bike and spun the front wheel. I can hear the "hissing" of the tire as it runs through the calipers, but no squeaking. So... What now?

Did you grease the axle before putting it back?

I'm getting to be a professional at this. Jacked the bike up, dropped it down so that the front tire was barely on the floor, pulled the pinch bolt and axle, greased the axle, slid it right back in, put the pinch bolt back in, torqued both of them to spec, lowered the bike and pulled the jack, all in approximately ten minutes.
