Clifford,
I am looking at the kuryakan back rest #1554. If you were to order this, how much would it be? I wouldn't mind ordering it if it will help you out too! Let me know.
Thanks,
Ken

I like my Firehouse. And in the instructions I remember it specifically stating that one must grab onto the seat from the rear of the bike and pull it backwards to adjust it. That is because out of the box they tend to lean way forward and would jab you at a angle. After following the instructions step by step it worked out great and I am completely satisfied with it. Makes a world of difference with ALL my riding habits.
And I saved a huge amount of money not having to get the Mustang seat -although I really think it's the nicest setup out there.
Ride Safe........

I bought mine for long rides but I just can't force myself to take it off around town. Started with the Bakup drivers backrest from West end Motorsports http://www.westendmotorsports.com/ (the one in the picture) and ended up buying a Mustang Driver, passenger seat that has a backrest for the driver.
Regardless, i won't leave home without it from now on.

I have the FireHouse seat, and have a custom made bracket similar to the one it comes with, that sits me back just a bit more. as I said earlier, I love this thing, and would not be without it on a long trip.

I am getting ready to order the Ultimate seat with the rider back rest and the passanger seat with a back rest. I see on your you have a trunk and wrap around back for the passanger. Is it made for a RS or did you modify it yourself?

Mine came with the CWI drivers backrest and so far I really like it. Only possible downside is that this one mounts to the fender struts, so if you also have a sissybar and saddlebag supports you may run into problems.

Please describe this custom made bracket. I too have the FireHouse and would like something that sits further back. Tried bending the FH bracket bud didn't get it where I'd like it.
Thanks IowaRoadie.....greeny
