Platinum Boarder Posts: 1284 Getting the air filter cover off 1 Month, 2 Weeks ago   Last night, I thought I'd check my air filter and see if it needed cleaning. I removed the bolt in the center of the cover, and the three cap screws at the corners. It still wouldn't come off. Then there is 3 screws on the back side of the filter box holding the cover on too. Oil from the breather hose destroyed the glue holding the filter together on mine. I have since re-routed the breather to the bottom of the bike to keep the oil out of the air filter.
