I wasnt one of the lucky ones, I didnt notice the bike being quieter when I went to the syn. I had high hopes, but it didnt change mine. Some bikes like it, some don't.

I have been running Syn. for 3 oil changes now. Bike seems quieter than at first, also use a Wal-Mart oil filter. Just don't like the price of the Syn.

Sure would be nice to add high compression pistons and better valve springs while they was in there!
I did that.. It was probably the single best thing I did to really improve the sound and spunk of the bike. Other R* riders around here listen to my bike and know something is different, but can't quite figure out what.
I had the competition pistons and the competition valve springs put in. My R* is an 01 and most cam makers didn't want to sell me a cam due to reliability issues. Doesn't matter to me, I love the thing the way it is.

Go to this web site it is the best explanation of oils that i have found it REALLY EXPLAINS the difference.
www.amsoil.com/lit/g2156.pdf Make sure you READ it and don't just look at the charts and graphs it's a very good read.

there is a lot of debate on breaking in your new rings with SYN. You will get those with the recall work. Some think you should use Dino for the break in, others say there is no difference with the ceramic coated cylinders. I am old school. I would leave the Dino in for 600 miles or so, then go to SYN. Buts thats just me.
