Yes... and No. You can raise the bike and give a jerk up on the front tire. It may move and you can feel the slop in the steering head. Be sure to have someone stablize the bike when you do this. Problem is mine felt tight when I did that and it was still loose. but if you feel the play in when doing this, at least then you know that's what it is. I just caution you that because you dont feel the "play" doesnt mean it isnt loose.

I don't mind the wobble in my handlebars. What I'm really upset about, is that my on-board espresso maker totally crapped out.

Thanks for all the help fellas! I just found a motorcycle mechanic through a friend that I am going to have take a look at it tomorrow. I don't wanna risk anything, and, I avoid the dealership rip off labor so it's a win-win

Just a little update.... I had it checked out and it looks like it is in fact the tire that's causing it. I have a metzeler 880 front tire that is a bit worn and was low on air pressure.

I read somewhere that the front tire psi should be around 30, but in fact the metz tire has 42 psi on it. So I put her at 42 psi and the wobble went away....for the most part. It still wobbled a bit on decel, but not nearly as much.

The mechanic said that is due to the wear of the front tire.

Well, I feel alot better that it wasn't my bearings or steering

Now I can ride with peace of mind this week!

Good deal, glad it was something simple. If your tire is worn it might smooth out after you ride for awhile and be back good as new. Be safe on you ride.

That is good news. Yes 30 is too low. I run 39 in front and 41 in rear. tires can lose a couple of psi a week in some cases. Ride on and enjoy!
