4 is all you need. A little being........1/3rd of a qt.? Half a qt. is probably OK for this change , but from here on out , 4 and forget about.
If you are concerned you overfilled , drain a little out. BB

Don't ever ever look at the dipstick.

Seriously. The dipstick is a joke. You should never add or take out oil based on what it says. You have to go through a ridiculous procedure to even get to the point where Yami says it's ready to check. And even then you probably won't get the same reading twice. Use 4 qts only. No more. Button it up and ride until the next change. Too much oil might / can be a problem. If you think you over did it drain it and start over.

Never have checked the dipstick. My theory: Put 4 qts in. If there ain't a puddle under it and no smoke, there should be 4 qts coming out when I change it next time.

another option to just get a bit out would be to spin your filter off, dump out what's in there, then put it back on. As long as the bike isn't running, it *shouldn't* drain out anymore than what's there. Then again the spigot is low enough I suppose it could gravity feed? I'll test this one on my next change which is coming up real soon, but in the meantime can someone else who knows chime in?

That's where a suction gun comes in handy.
