AIS Removal Question 3 Years, 3 Months ago
Well, thanks to the post office my ais removal kit wont be here till tomorrow. I'm only off on weekends and cant ride the bike to where i work. I wanted to tear into it this weekend but now since they screwed me and my parts are a day out I'm wondering something. Since I wont be riding the bike this week what would it hurt to go ahead and remove the tank and take the AIS stuff off? Am I going to be looking at anything leaking or anything like that? I plan to block any ports off with a clean rag to keep would be trespassers out lol. Anyone got an opinion on this or should I just wait till the parts get here. I have that work around the garage fever today and really wanted a bike project. I figure I could just put the plates on when they get here, then put the vacuum cap on and put the tank back on when the kit gets here. I'll check back here in a bit to see if anyone has replied. Gonna back the bike out and refloor the area where it sits. Wood floor and last year the condensation that dripped off the back tire just about rotted it out.(Man I'm desperate for a project) Oh and I still need to check those plugs too so there would actually be a reason to be taking the tank off today.
