I regularly hear about Road Stars being on the road and running well beyond 100,000 miles.

Mine's at 79K. She wasn't looked after well before me (should I say the man was doing burnouts?), but runs well and my girlfriend who only rides HD wants one just based on riding this ol' beater. Yes, I think they last, but the pro's say so too. Oh yeah, and I know a guy who's selling a 1700 asking $6K with only 7K miles on it, looks new. It's in SC.

You mean the girlfriends or the bikes!
I grew up a gearhead, pulled my first car, an abandoned Monte Carlo, out of a field when I was 14. Sometimes you just don't really know what you're getting into...I do plan to save this bike though!

that blackened engine, yami started doing that in what... '03. Yami put the wagon wheels on in '04. So if its an '04, that would be between 32K to 53K per year. WOW!!! I put a respectible 12K on my bike per year, but that's what I call riding. Impressive!
