Need Help (sissybar pad) 3 Years, 7 Months ago
I scored a Kuryakyn sissybar off Ebay for a song, but now I'm having trouble finding a pad that will fit it. Wanted to go with a Mustang Wide Vintage pad since I plan on upgrading to one of their Vintage seats over the winter. Problem is they're pad for square bars is made to fit the Yamaha sissybar and the gal on the phone (who didn't seem to thrilled to have to answer questions) couldn't tell me what the bar spacing is on them.

So, what I need is someone with a Yamaha sissybar to measure it's width and give me two measurements, inside-to-inside and outside-to-outside on the uprights where the pad mounts.

Thanks in advance!

Mine measures 5 1/2" at the outside and 3" inside at the mounts.

Ok, that's way different than what I have. Mines 4" inside and 5" outside (1/2" tube) and has no mounting bosses.

Mine is a tubular sissybar. Noticed yours is square. That might account for the difference. Sorry I couldn't help more.

I'm "thinking" this might be a standard HD configuration. Shot an email off to Mustang to get more info, so hopefully they'll come back with good news.

Hey MrFurious, is this the sissybar you bought? http://www.denniskirk.com/jsp/product_catalog/Product.jsp?skuId=&store=Main&catId=&productId=p494983&leafCatId=&mmyId=

The wife is complaining about how low the stock backrest is with the Corbin seat I have. do you have any pics(assuming you've got it installed by now)?

Mine's the shorter/standard height version of that one. Don't have it installed yet as I'm still waiting for the pad to come in from Mustang. As for pads that fit them, look at those for Harley's with no center insert/mounting plate.

Here's a link to the one's Mustang offers:
