Just curious...is there one riders association out there that is better than other, or are they all bad or all good? Any value to them at all? The two big ones I found are ISRA and the Star Touring & Riding Assoc. ISRA looked kinda out of date...the page said the last update was in Nov. 2002??

I have the bike, and live in a somewhat rural area, so i thought it would be great to hook up with some like-minded Star owners in the area.

Any and all input welcomed!

TIA,

RK

A little to broad of a question. As a whole they might be OK but the local chapter might be run like crap. And it depends on the members of the local too. My 2 cents anywho.

Musky--

That makes perfect sense. I just have no experience with any of them...thought maybe getting on an email list of events would be good, attend a few, then make a decision. Didn't know if one or the other or any of them was a scam to be avoided at all costs.

Guess it doesn't really matter until the snow melts around here, anyway...

Thanks--

Can't help with any experience as I've never joined. I'm not real big on crowds and I like going where the whim takes me when I'm out riding. I think they would frown on me if I just took of during an organized ride. Go to the Star touring website and find the local nearest you. Maybe Star can give you feedback on their chapters. I would think your local chapter would probably have a website. The local here does.

The ISRA are quite active. Are you going to the right site?

http://www.star-riders.org/

You can get more feedback on their Delphi site at http://forums.delphiforums.com/star_riders/start

There are also clubs that are not brand specific like the Southern Cruisers http://www.southerncruisers.net/ The SCRC has Chapters all over the country.
