I have a pair of Gerbing's heated gloves and I have run them for several hours on my '01 Roadie no problem.
I run them through a controller and have them set to about 50% riding down into the 20's for tempature.
some of the heated gloves don't have heat out to the finger tips.
The gloves at full power us less than those passing lights people put on. I don't run those.
For unheated, mittens are warmer for me than gloves.

I've got a pair of the Gerbing heated gloves. I wouldn't take anything for them. Liked `em so well, I bought myself the Gerbing jacket and overpants too! Talk about being toasty warm in cold weather......
