Is there a link to a tech article on how to do that?

The Rectifier doesn't have to stay mounted in that location. It just needs to be on the bike. You can move it if you want to clean up the front even more.

It's just aluminum painted black.

All I did was polish the top, sides and carefully polish the edges of the fins so it looks just like the motor.
Only took about 5 minutes once it was off the bike.

What did you use to polish it? (Actually, I was talking about your forks...) LOL

But what did you use to polish the rectifier?

Ah, got it... Had to have the forks chromed since mine didn't come that way.

I use a simple 6" bench buffer/grinder setup. The paint on the rectifier is relatively thin. Just takes a few seconds to get below it. I've been using the polishing bars. But, chrome or aluminum polish should clean that piece up just fine.
Really all you're doing is removing the paint and giving it a quick polish.

where would be a good location to put it Musky, Although polishing it makes the part look better, I would prefer not to see it at all...

Cool. I'll polish mine up, then. The chromed forks look fantastic!

Here's one pic I could find right off hand. Do a search on the Roadie sites and you'll find more ideas.
