I just found this forum. Lots of good info. I have a 2007 Midnight and just replaced the stock pipes with some longshots. The stock pipes are just laying around the garage. If you can use them, u are cerainly welcome to them.

DUDE!!! Now is when you whip out the (now wife veto proof) list of "safety improvements" for the Roadie.

I'll be back, wife is home today and I need to move the Roadie to the end of the driveway in the blind spot........

Hey RJF , those tour classic Bags on your 05 look like they might be on Quick release brackets ...if so which kind are they and do you like them ? I have same Bags on Factory Mounts but just find them too much to dismount for mainenance or Detailing .

My sweet Wife got my first street bike back in 97/98 the same way. I learned a valuable lesson : DON'T LEAVE THE BIKE SITTING BEHIND A CAR! So far , so good. BB

Sailrider, they are on the factory mounts. 4 allen bolts (2 on the bottom and 2 on the side of each). Sorry, no quick release.

Thanks for all the sympathetic input.
You don't even know the half of the crap I'm dealing with right now. This was the icing on the cake.

You know when you really screw up and get caught? The lash out of terror coming is nothing compared to the time you spend waiting and anticipating the horror that is about to come. My wife is emotionally beating the crap out of herself already about this. That pad on top of the rear fender is her second most favorite place to plant her cheeks. Not to mention my bike was a birthday present from her.

Needless to say I had two nights so far of the best home cooked food...
Coffee delivered to me in the morning, cold beer in the afternoon, and at night Wild Turkey on ice.

Right now I'm probably gonna just ride it dings and all for a while. It ran okay with no issues other than the passing light swinging loose. A little wrench work and she'll be okay till I get some cash together. I am broke. I just received my first unemployment check ever at age 38. Thinking paying for the roof over my head and food for the family is more important. Yep 10/31/08 was my last day at the dealership after the owner sold the franchise back to Ford Motor Co. I have some pretty strong opinions regarding the requested "bailout."
THANKS A LOT UAW

I will check with the dealer on the take off sets, thanks for the idea.

KEEP THE SHINY SIDE UP.

Hey AKATIREGUY; Sorry to hear about the mishap. Bikes can be repaired, but emotions can be a bit trickier. Just keep telling her all is ok and you love her just as much as ever. Besides, she got it for you to start with.
