Jet--
I'll speak up for Pop Rivet...he's got the fear o' Musky in him... Actually, he was the one that recommended the Yami Dual Touring Seat, and I ended up getting it. LOVE IT! And it's made by Corbin. You COULD buy it off the Corbin site and pay even more. Just watch eBay...they're on there all the time. Got mine for $400, brand new, which is several hundred less than retail. Saw a lightly used one go the other day for $295.
One great feature is the removable backrests for driver and rider. They adjust nicely and fit snug in the back.
OK, enough...I'm starting to sound like Pop...
RK
PS I need to update the sigpic to show the seat, I know, I know...

Musky
I had the Custom solo for a bit and the the dual Touring now..
Both gave you a feeling of sitting in a seat not on it...
and both were heavy fibreglass seat pans and not the light plastic that stock has

Post edited by: Pop Rivet, at: 2007/01/09 22:56

Musky
I have been busy teachin the R* how to rip up old carpeting and kitchen flooring
A few plumbing lessons..and tips on painting and my R* will be a skilled ride
Actually some painful hours around the house this winter may earn me some
riding time come spring

If ya have to do that stuff now is the time of year to do it. I'd think the Roadie should be great at tearing up carpet.

I have an "OFF BRAND" custom seat, it is made by Diamond Seats. The rider's seat is smaller than stock and sits lower than the Mustang. It is firm, my longest ride has been 5 hours round trip. No buttock issues at all. The passenger pillion is easily 8 inches thick and my wife says it is heaven but we're going to cut it down slightly as the backrest is too low on her back. They take your info weight height etc. and custom form a seat. The base is fiberglass and hard, no flex good support.
My problem with stock is that the pillion cuts into my lower back on long rides. My legs are not that long 32" inseam but the mustang didn't give me the legroom the Diamond does.
My suggestion is that you go to a show or a Toy Run or some such and ask permission to sit on all the different seats you can find. This saved me the expense of buying a Mustang and taking the hit on resale as I realized it wasn't for me. I liked the Corbin Dual but I am heading towards the ability to set up solo easily.
I'm buying a second set of seat mounting hardware so I can switch back and forth between stock and aftermarket for esthetics, my 4 cents.

Another option ...
I have another stock fender with the pilon and backrest on it. It takes me about 10 minutes to switch out the single setup for the dual setup .... undo three bolts and unplug one harness.

Buy another Roadie and set it up for 2 up riding. Saves alot of time.
