Gidday Javawave...as someone who seems to have the best of both worlds (i.e. cruiser / tourer) do you have any preferences on the 2009 models?

If money were no object? For me it would have to be between the Raider "S" and the Stratoliner "S". I am impressed by the power they both have. Another roadie stripped to a singe seater would be great also, and probably my next addition since the price point on a used one is so favorable.

Man I think they ruined the look of the Roadstar (not the "s" or the silverado... the plain red one) with the cheesy white stripe going down the side of the rear fender.. blagghhh

I thought you could get a Disc player as an option?

You can get a multidisk cd changer for it, but it still comes with the cassette player.

Talked to a Yami dealer a couple weeks ago about the next generation of Ventures.
He said that the motor would be based on the new 1700 Vmax motor, but it would be a detuned version. Guess the 200 HP wouldn't be to good for touring (mpg).
He also said it would be a F/I, water cooled, shaft drive model. That they are not trying to compete with the HD touring bikes, but rather going head to head with the Goldwings, and that they would probably will be a 2010 model.
I'm kinda anxious for them to come out, but hoping the style isn't to futuristic.
I think I would still wait for the second year though.

Thanks for feedback mate. Yes, I took a Roadliner for a test ride...no shortage of horses. It will be interesting to see how far the dealers will go with price discounts over the next 6-12 months.

CoachDan...I'm not sure if I got this right...but is the Venture a reborn model? I met a guy a month or so ago who had a Yami that looked very similar he'd done a gazzillion miles on this thing and it was still running sweet.

I was wondering what direction Yami would take. It does look like there'll be a range of options available which is good.
