I just got my new ones today ($237 for both OEM size). I will put them on in the morning and I always run 42 in both. I did notice when I bought them the fronts are 4 ply rayon tread 4 ply rayon sidewall. The backs are 4 ply polyamide tread and 2 ply polyamide sidewalls. Polyamide what ever that is???????? Just thought it strange that they are both bias ply tires but the construction is different as well as the material used. BTW they are the German ones not the Brazil one.

I was told by a Metzler rep, that the The way the German ones are built are for Harleys, and the way the Brazilian ones are made were the ones for the Roadie. Said it had something to do with the ply and construction. Go figure

Well I got mine on today and they feel great. I didn't realize how worn the old ones were and the differance inthe feel on the road. Only thing is I didn't make it in time to get my state inspection done they closed the doors early on me. I guess I be working on finishing my lowers tomorrow instead of riding.

I have the Brazilian Metzlers and I agree... they really grip the road.

Just got my Metz installed today. Ride nice but I have a fair amount of vibration at 65 that I didn't have on the old tires. Taking it back tomorrow and have them check it out. They started with 40 and 42 tire pressure. I left it that way to ride the 14 miles home. Mine are made in Germany.

160/80-16 is the biggest you can put on the rear. Not really going to put any more rubber on the ground as the rim is still the same size. My wrench even said it will put less rubber on the road so I stayed with the stock size. I am NOT going to change my rims.

UPDATE,,,, Turns out they didn't put 40/42 like what I asked. They put in 34/38. Might explain the excessive vibration. Today I rode 305 miles and it was an absolute delight. I changed pressure to 40/45. Never rode better. Rode so nice it makes me want to sleep with it but I am still faithful to my wife after 24 years

Thanks to all for their recommendations.

Pressure is very important with these tires glad to hear you figured it out. The only time I don't like them is the graded rode getting ready to pave. They seem to get sponge, I just hate the graded rodes esecially highway.
