My favorite bike before my Yami's was a '76 Ironhead Sporty I had in '79-81. Drag bars on 6" risers and when I broke a shock I replaced them with shorter struts welded up from 4 large nuts and some 3/4" round bar stock. That was a baaaad boy!

I rode 5 Goldwings over 25 Years before I bought my 05 Silverado.I love this bike but miss all the bells and whistles my Goldwings give you on 700 mile days.I will keep my Roadstar but want to get another Wing or the new Kawi Voyager-will hope to get on one to try out this spring.

I love the Roadie for around town and short hauls (200 mi or so). Its comfotable and looks great. The next one would have to been a pure tourer, though. Probably either a Venture or a Voyager. The Goldwing just doesn't even look like a motorcycle, to me anyway.

I sometimes miss my last bike. Was nice to take off down a dirt/gravel road and explore. Can't do that on my Star.

A second bike for me would be for nostalga...a triumph bonneville or its clone the yamaha xs 650. Or perhaps another old british bike, like a Norton Comando or a BSA Lightning...those are the bikes that introduced me to motorcyling. I havent been on one in 30 years...I am sure my memories are better than the reality, but they sound like fun to me.
