headlight 3 Years, 4 Months ago  
Im thinking of putting a new bulb in my headlight will a h4 bulb plug an d play also a 55/60 is it the max that will not overload my chargeing system I have a stock 07 1700 thanks for any input

I believe the H4 should work. 55/60 is the highest wattage allowed by law. Your watts for your system shouldnt be a problem. The 1700's have a higher amp out put than the 1600's did.

As far as I know all RoadStars have an H4 bulb, standard is 55/60 watt. The best bulb you can get is made by PIAA it is 55/60 watts electrically but has a light output equal to 125/135 watts; so the electrical load is normal but it is a lot brighter, and it is leagle. They list for $49.95 I can get them for you for $35.85 + shipping. There are other bulbs available too.

Get the PIAA "anti vibration" H4 bulb for Motorcycles

PowerSports series

Not sure if that is what Clifford is selling

I run an H-4 out of the snowmobile catalog, 90 watt low and 110 high beam, they come in yellow, blue, purple, green tints as well as clear, you just need to watch local laws if they want to be picky on tint on the bulbs.
