Well just got back from atest run from putting in the HardKrome Stright Thru Baffles. Man are they loud esp on the back down. Think I may have to do the sink strainer mod to tone them down.

It's always a delicate balance between being heard and not pissing off everyone in your neighborhood. I installed Cobra LoBoys, and while they sound great to me, my neighbors look at me differently now!

But I love my pipes I just have to tweak them to get the sound the way I want them. I didn't care for the stock baffle sound thes are closer to what I want but they are a little harsh on the backoff.

Well I tried the Strainer thing and that puts it back like the stock baffles that came with the HardKrome K2 pipes. I tried a mod of my own and it didn't make much differance. I'll send you my e-mail address. I may just fab my own as I have a mig and actylene rig.

Didn't someone roll up chicken wire and stick it in the pipes with good results. Should take minimal engineering to design.

Curt, not really sure if this would work or not (because of pipe dia. , yours vrs. V&H), but V&H makes an optional "quiet" baffle that fits inside their longshot and others that really tones down the bark. If they are the same size pipe, could work for you.

I still have the stock baffles that came with the bike but don't like the sound Doc sent me an article and it is just about what I was thinking about doing with the straight thru baffles. I am going to cut them apart and put fiberglass in them and weld them back togeather and put them in. That should give me the sound I am looking for. With a little work. Heck I never can leave anything alone just gotta jack with stuff.

Hey Curt, do u have the 3" drags from HardKrome?? I didn't realize they had baffles. Will I need to re-jet or anything if I take them out. I'm a rookie here so bear with me, lol. I asume by taking out the baffles the bike becomes much louder?? Thanks in advance.
