This method works well also if she's in a good mood.

Personally I would think twice before using a power washer on anything but my tires as pressurized water can be very destructive and intrusive but if I was going to do it anyway I would go to the local car wash and get the guys in the back to use their steam guns on it.Dawn dish washing soap is the best degreaser I have used but make sure you rinse it and rinse it again.Nevr-dull is what I use on the chrome to clean it....Coug

I've heard Dawn dish soap has chemicals that are not friendly to paint, any truth to that?

Try good old WD-40, safe on paint...chrome...even works on fishing lures as a attractant...takes off bug guts...over spray and makes plastic look new again!
After all the basic ingrediant is fish oil!

When your done ...pull out the good old shop vac and put the hose on BLOW!. Buy you self the attachment that looks like a funnel and whala! No spots!

I use the cleaner wax called ZYMOL on my windshield to remove the bug guts. You can rub hard and NEVER any scratches. The wax is a robin egg blue color and comes in 16oz squirt bottle. Also works awesome on black paint.

Car washes recycle the water, people crack me up when they go in there in the winter and try to get the salt off by blasting recycled salt water into the cracks and crevices at 300 PSI. Plus the "Hot Wax" is designed to attract dirt to get you back sooner.

WARNING be careful with car washes i used one for my YZFR6 and is left a nasty resadue of chunky way all over took more time to clean the nasty wax off the it would have to just wash the bike with a bucket and water.

i think im gonna give this S100 stuff a try.

I have found full washes are something of a full day event to get every drop of water out of every spot, hence pulling the tank and every other piece of trim. On those days, I use Mother's car wash to get it clean cause I heard (don't know if it's fact) but dishwashing liquid is actually too good at removing oils, and will remove all the wax off the paint when used regularly. I only go through this hassle though if I plan to wax it. Most times I clean my ride though, it's Quick detailer, Turtle Wax crome polish, Black Magic tire cleaner, and a Turtle Wax interior cleaner/preserver for the seat. Only takes me about an hour that way, but if I do the full wash, dry, wax, and derust operation, I am looking at about 4 - 6 hrs. Ya know, I might just have to quit riding in the rain... but where is the fun in that?

Wash mine at home with S-100 and dry it off. Regular car wash soap works also. Last year I had one of those MR.Clean car wash hose attachments and it worked pretty well also, just the filter for the no spotting rinse is a little expensive My .03 cents anywho.

I've never had to take the hose or a bucket of water to mine, but if I did, I'd use a nozzle on the hose, rather than a pressure washer or anything like that.

Even if you don't have a leaf blower or anything, water spots aren't that big of a deal. Pledge takes 'em right off.

Dude . . . where exactly do you use and how you use the pledge ?? you are talking about the one that I use to clean my desk ?? the one for furniture ?? if so . . . can you please let me know exactly how you use it ?? do you spray it over chrome ?? how about the black parts of my engine (I have a Midnight Star) thanks

I've never used it on the engine, but yes. Good old lemon furniture polish. I have two soft rags. One, I spray the polish on and apply it, working a section at a time. To everything except the saddle and tires. Gas tank, windshield, chrome, steel... I spray it on one cloth and wipe it off, and then use the other cloth to buff it. Give it a try! It's just as effective as the high-dollar stuff.
