You'll also notice that even though you wipe it off it may streak once it dries ... just wipe again with a cloth.

For the bugs on the windshield area, take a towel, wet it get it real hot in the microwave and lay it over. Let it sit for a few seconds and wipe. All the bugs are gone.

I use Showtime for everything, paint, chrome, bags, seat you name it I use it on. I never use water except for grease.

Degreaser, dawn dish soap, water and a brush to get in the cracks. Rinse and rinse again.

I just use the Honda (not called that now) Spray cleaner for the majority of the cleaning and some Nevr-Dull chrome batting polish on the pipes and large chrome pieces. Have never used water on the bike.

How about cleaning white-wall tires that look brownish? I've tried Formula 88 and Bleche-Wite and neither worked. Any home remedies?

(I hope this is not considered highjacking)

FWIW...I wash my R* with good quality auto wash then hose off. I use chamois cloth and gently blow excess water off with compressed air.

When dry I use three products (1) clear plastic polish for windscreen; (2) Purple for chrome and alloy parts, including rims and spokes; (3) Auto polish for painted parts, including frame. All polishes are buffed by hand with soft cloth.

Pre-wash includes spray with 'Bug and Tar' remover on heavy grime, including any grime on the exhaust pipes. Alternative is kerosene.

I also remove the three screws and lift the speedo panel from the fuel tank to dry and clean underneath.

Glad to see I'm not the only one who has spent multiple hours washing a Roadie. I rinse, wash with dish soap and a large soft sponge, rinse and repeat, then dry with an 'Absorber.' Then I'll take if for a short (few blocks) ride to get the water out of the tough spots, then dry it with a clean T-shirt. I'm sure there are better ways, but I like to spend my time ridin' as much as possible. I'll also be trying out Pledge come spring and maybe some of that S100 that everyone's talking about.

Personally I would think twice before using a power washer on anything but my tires as pressurized water can be very destructive and intrusive but if I was going to do it anyway I would go to the local car wash and get the guys in the back to use their steam guns on it.Dawn dish washing soap is the best degreaser I have used but make sure you rinse it and rinse it again.Nevr-dull is what I use on the chrome to clean it....Coug

I've heard Dawn dish soap has chemicals that are not friendly to paint, any truth to that?

I have heard that as well that is why I rinse and rinse again until no soap residual is left.I am by no means an expert about it but I have heard all dish detergents are not good on paint or actually the clearcoat .I look at it this way I use it mainly on wheels, engines, underbody etc. grease build up spots and I rinse until no soap foam can be seen and I do not use it all the time just on tough jobs .I have never had a paint problem because of it . The question was whats the best degreaser was what I was answering not what do I wash my paint with but IMO you bring up a valid point that should have been made Thanks ....Cougar

I use Simple Green with a soft bristle brush. Just spray it on then rinse with water. It cleans the wheels (cast) as well.
