Fender Racks?? 3 Years, 4 Months ago
Hello, I am wondering who is running what for the rear fender rack. The two I have seen are the Yami, and Show Chrome. I know what the Yami one looks like, but think the Show chrome photo is generic so pics will help. Are these racks "really" useful or just for looks. Does that little lip on the Yami one do anything? And, what bibs fit under the Rack. Ok, lots of questions, just want opinions on what you've got! Thanks!

Dont know how usful they are ..but they cover the holes if you dont wanna use the plugs. I've been wanting to check into them myself so I can take the rear seat off, I'll be watchin'.

I just got rid of my back seat and purchased the solo rack ($53.90 + $5 shipping) from Republic Cycle (RC), made by Show Chrome, which I think is a Big Bike Parts (??) company.

The first one they sent me I returned because the rear end that attaches to the fender does not lay flat against the fender (see picture 1 below).

The second problem was the front end that attaches to the fender was not completely chromed, the metal was dull (see picture 2 below).

I sent the pictures to RC. They sent me another rack. The chrome is a little better (not perfect), but the other problem is the same. I'm still thinking whether I should keep it.

WOW! Think I'll hold on the Show Chrome one! Had a chance to get one cheap, but I can see why! Guess I'll wait to find a good deal on a Yami one! Thanks for the replies!

... and they did NOT come with the mounting bolts. I had to use the ones that were there for the rear seat, and they are NOT chrome.
