When I installed mine I use silvered bulbs that glow red. They worked fine but I didn't think that they were bright enough. I decided to switch to a red lens with a clear bulb. I went the cheep route, basic 1156 clear bulb with one pin filed off and I painted the inside of the clear lens with 3 coats of Tamiya clear red model paint. They look great. I swapped bikes with a buddy to see how they looked and was impressed at how well the worked even in daylight. Total cost maybe 4-5 dollars and I still have plenty of paint left.

I did that route too...red bulbs with clear lenses but they are as anemic in the daytime as the clear stock tailight
with the red leds.. yep red lens with clear 1156 bulbs far brighter...

I have the Kury R T B ...Big difference! Switched all the lights out to red on the back and I like it much better. I noticed one day,..(while following a Roadstar in my semi),.. that the tail light looked more pink than red..(04' and higher years).. and not very bright compared to vehicles around it. Thats why I put mine on, now when I look behind my bike at night..the whole road glows red.

Did ya find the paint fer yer tailight????

Buy it. simple as that. its more than worth the extra money to not have to cut wires. I ordered mine thru cruisercustomizing but I've heard that some have had problems w/ them in the past. Personally I didn't. Also take the time to go ahead and order the kury lens replacements as well.

I too have the controller and have also noticed that the cages seem to notice you more when the brake lights flash. In my opinion, the more noticable you are, the better off you are. My motto: "Safety First, Loud Pipes & Bright Lights"

Thanks for the tips. I am heading over to JP Cycles in Ormond Beach to pick up a set tomorrow. Will let you know what I end up doing bulb wise. I guy I rode with yesterday had the set up on an 05 but I think he said they were LED's on the turn/running lights. I'll get more info from him next week.

Update. The JP Cycle website has Iridium Coated Red Incandescent Bulbs (1157 replacement)listed that glow red and are guaranteed not to fade to pink. However, the tech tip says it may be necessary to switch to a metalic bulb housing due to the extra heat and potential of the plastic lens shell melting.

Anyone have any experience with these bulbs?

Re:Kuryakyn Run-Turn-Brake Controller? 3 Years, 4 Months ago
ok.. installed the controller a few minutes ago. Took like 5 minutes. Problem is when you turn on the turn signal the rear turn signal lights goes out and when you apply the brake they go out. I guess the previous owner did some modification to keep the turn signals on all the time as running lights. Guess I will head to the garage and start troubleshooting

I didn't have anything to do tonight anyways.

I have the Run-turn-brake along with LED SIlver Bullets front and rear. When I pull on the brake everyone behind me notices. LED's on stop/turns and the roadies stop light really light it up.

Ok... all fixed. I tracked down a gizmo the old owner had installed to keep the turn signals on all the time it appears. Everything works fine

Thanks to all that recommended this easy plug and play safety item.
