I recently upgraded my RTB setup to these LED inserts from the silver/red bulbs after one of those burned out. Someone else here had recommended them and now I'll throw my hat in that ring too. They are kind of spendy but they are a lot brighter than the silver/reds I was using.

Re:Kuryakyn Run-Turn-Brake Controller? 3 Years, 4 Months ago
the brightest setup is 1156 clear bulbs and red lenses....the silver coated reds are dull.. 1156 reds with clear lense better

leds are bright at night but they wash out quickly in sunlight like the stock led tailight... and are only at their best when viewed straight on

that is why you cant get a candle power/lumens rating for any led like you can with an incandescent bulbs

but the led pancake red and clear lense would be a good match for the tailight...unless you do the color it red on the tailight

So, i called kury. and talked to tech support. I was told that the plug and play kury. #4612 will not work on a 08 silverado s do to the bulb turn signals an the l.e.d. stop light. Has anybody else tryed this and did it work. I was told i would have to use the unaversal kury. and splice the wires. I do not like that idea at all. Well i can always put in the backoff flasher! it should be fine as the 4612 fits 04-07 which has bulb signals and led tailight ..I didnt think yamaha changed anything in the lighting system for 08...or the harness from the 2004/2005/2006/2007 years
just need the extra load equalizer 4810 the harness plug is the same as previous years

why would the universal work i thought the only dfrrence between a universal and a plug and play was the harness plugs

THANKS POP RIVET, i do not know about the harness, just what kury told me. BUT i did get my new JP cycle catalog today, and in there it shows the kury and bike dates for 04-08 years, so know i am really lost for what to do. RIDE SAFE

I am pretty sure that there was no change from 07 to 08 in the lighting system or the harness...so what worked on the
07 should work on the 08 which is the 4612 unit in question and I am quite sure there are some guys with 2008 that have installed the Kury RTB...

J and p told me I needed a splitter for the turn signal indicator light on the dash if I was gonna run extra leds with this rtb controller. What they sent me was a wire that looks like a Y to splice into the indicator light. Anyone heard of this?
