Oh well....I tried, I know Jerry and Donna and yes your right, she certainly rides better then most. I guess I put my foot in my mouth with that "Chick" referance. My bad.
Hehe...no sweat. And yes I agree they're a small bike but that's what makes then fun & zippy for quick short trips. Kind of like a dirtbike for the road. Maybe you should have said "canrie midget bike". No one likes carnie midgets. <because....small hands, smells like cabbage>

My Sporty is a 1200 with Andrews Cams, weisco flat top pistons (about 11-1 comp), lockhard oil cooler, 23 tooth front pully, lowered progressive suspension rear shocks, S&S Super E carb with secondary, extended forwards, etc., etc. the list is endless including the Fatboy mods. It is, by all means 'a man's bike' and its actually scary but fun to ride. Its a great commuter and I always feel like a hooligan when I ride it and has a sound nearly as nice as one of my old Shovelheads. Its higher off the ground than the Road Star but the ergonomics are actually very similar. Its only 4 inches shorter than the fatboy (which to me the Fatboy looks small compaired to my R*). Granted, its a highly modified sporty, but I think they are great cheap bikes for just running the road with and modifying. The aftermarket support is amazing. I wouldn't take them on the highway unless you are into S&M and I wouldn't ride one if you are over 6ft tall (I'm 5'10", 200lbs). The one thing I HATE about my Road Star is cornering clearance. Why don't they make this bike's lean angle a little bit more? My sporty just makes it fun to ride when I'm in the twisty mood.

Yeah.. I've learned to lighten my leg on the low side floorboard when I make a sharp turn and really lean the bike. I hate that scrrrrrrrrrape!!! Fortunately, the boards are hinged so they don't catch and dig.

Yeah, I'm going to start seriously looking into raising the boards or something. I figure if you raised them an inch, perhaps by pulling the mounts off and re- drilling the holes, you'd gain an appreciable amount of clearance.
It's either this or I'm buying an older SV650 to go blast around on.
BTW Frank: great music!

A 1200 sportster is ok, but the 883 s--ks but used ther cheap, you could make a bar hopper out of one but it would be slow the 1200 is fast and can be very fast with this and that. but go get on a road king and ride it, then come back and get on your road star and ride it. the road star feels the same to me and rides better and better engine but it not a harley (so what).my bar hopper is fast it was fun to ride but sold it dont ride like my custom road star.
