Ok here is the tray I use it is sturdy but sure you could make it cheaper. I put speakers in the tach and speedo openings. I used 1" aluminum bent 2" at 90 and drill holes thru alum and put speakers in hold alum up to speakers tight mark mount bracket drill never rattles and is tight. My buddy started mounting speakers this way at his shop it looks very clean.
Radio tray

Thanks Makcap... I really appreciate it. Sounds like a great set-up for the speakers.
At least I know now I'm not going crazy wondering how this radio is supposed to mount...

Just what ever you do make it bomb proof the tray was worth the money to me. If you know a welder that might work. I know metal and welding in Fla is high though. I had to do some two years ago at Daytona I couldn't believe the cost of materials. I bought the bezel din also I know it would throw cost off but well worth it to me. It's from HD aftermarket Hundred dollar is what HD stand for. Just ask a Harley guy to stop at a store and not spend that while there. LOL

Yep. I feel lucky to get out of the HD stealership if I ONLY spend $100!!!
