Unless you have a specific reason to leave the AIS on .... take it off.
You'll never miss it.

Other than looks what are the advantages of removing the AIS. I still have mine on and do not have any problems. Is there a performance gain? I have vance and hines long shots (no baffles), BAK, and ported intake. Just wondering. I really enjoy the info on the site. Thanks guys...

No performance gain.
Injection of air into aftermarket pipes sometimes causes a popping sound .... depends on carb setup and the amount of baffling you have.

It is basically to clean up the looks of your bike....if you don't want to remove it, great. But the AIS is not needed unless you live in, like say, California or wherever emission tests are done.
