For me, it's all money, I would love to have a few more, and the price of the bike isn't the problem, The problem is the tags and insurance.. Like someone said, you can only ride one at a time, so the insurance and tag should go with the rider not the bikes..

So you do not think they would just quadripple the rate on the rider to keep the investors happy .I say cancel insurance period get a bumper car with a good motor and tranny and lets see what happens.I have an old 70 Dodge P.U. with guard rails for bumpers. Oh and to sorta stay on topic I have a Supercharged Jetski[Waterbike] ...Coug

I have had my 07 roadie going on 3 years. Last fall with some good advice from the folks here, bought a 89 goldwing with all the goodies and looks 5 years old even having 84,000 miles. The roadie is my favorite during good weather and the wing in other stuff. I would like to have an Ultra Classic but the garage is full now.

I have the '07 Roadstar and feel like a traitor when I get a kick out of my '84 Gold Wing XLT. The roadie's my favorite but the wing is nice also. Would probably prefer to trade of the wing for something in a sport bike a little quicker and lighter around town one of these days.

Also for tinkering and kicks I have a '53 Cushman barrel spring eagle and a '64 Super Silver Eagle. They are a lot of fun around the park and parades. Kids and old men love them. Yes I'm old enough and did ride a 53 in 1953 and thought that was the top of the world.

If you want ONLY two bikes, then something is wrong with you......

Just added another to my garage last night! I rescued a 1981 Yamaha XS400 Speciall II. The frame looks good, frontend looks good, and the engine compression is good. No carbs and missing some cosmetic stuff, but rust is limited. I hope to make a cafe' racer out of her one day!

Nice to hear it. Personally I get a big kick out of giving an old bike a new life. There is a bit of satisfaction to be had in putting one back on the road.

Totally agree. Gives a guy a chance to build something cheap, make mistakes on, learn from and not be crying about it later. Hone the skills for the dream project. IMO they make great second bikes and fun projects.

well as if deciding whether or not to buy a second bike wasnt enough drama in my world, now suddenly i have to choose between which second bike to get...a late 80s sportster has just come my way for almost about 2 grand (gonna turn it into a rigid with mini apes and fat bob tank) and cant decide if i should spend more for the shovel which is running so so or go with a decent running sporty for me to turn bobber... i hate making decisions

Same here, the decision is tough, I've already about changed my mind to bobber either way I will just be happy when I hear her come to life! Been looking at some cool custom bobbers made from this bike and I about got my mind made up, done found some parts on ebay that i'm watching,,,,main thing I need right now is a set of carbs, this was the only thing missing, one of the coils housing is cracked and the same seller with the carbs has coils and other electrical stuff cheap that I will go ahead and invest in....I want to do some research and see if some other old yami models frontend with a few more inches will fit...I already want to get rid of the front drum brake, but then again would look cool on a bobber!.....I want a Sportster peanut tank, may scoop out the seat area frame and raise the upper shock mounts to keep the rear suspension, would make for an awkard ride but it will be a rat bike,,,oh btw, I just found out it is a 6-speed!!! Hopefully I can get her to fire off without going into the engine, but if she doesn't I have a bud that is willing to tear into her for me,,,,If she smokes a bit it will be ok for now, just added charicter!
