Re:Need some info on Victory 3 Years, 3 Months ago
I rode a friend's Victory. It was a 1500. The torque was absolutely incredible. What struck me the most was the matter of shifting. Each up or down shifting event was accompanied with a very loud clunk... but, never had I ridden any bike that had such a positive gear change engagement "feel." It was a subjective thing, but everytime I'd hit the gear shift lever with my foot, it moved to the next cog so quickly and surely, with an unmistakable clunk... you knew you'd just changed gears. I thought it odd, but grew to like it very quickly.

However, all that said... I still think, even after the Ness job on the appearance of their product line, that they just don't suit my tastes, beginning with the engine appearance. To me it was too "contemporary" and not classic enough.

Good luck..... A friend of mine rides a 2000 Victory and I've done some work on it for him and the best we could find online was parts diagrams. Their (Victory) service manuals must be considered a closely guarded secret because it's hard (nearly impossible!) to even find one for sale. And when you do, it aint cheap!! If it were me, I'd have bought one by now, but my friend can't seem to spend the money to get one.

If ya find something, post a link if ya don't mind.

Thanks,
In The Wind,
Aaron
