You need to find out who actually owns this company and contact him/her. Sometimes the owners don't realize that their customer service dept is dropping the ball.
Is their pan the same shape as our stock one? If so, you could just put the cover on your stock pan yourself. Of course I'd be a little nervous pulling a $700 seat apart.

I know they give you a 14 day trial ride period to send it back. I guess they figure after that you are on your own.

After riding a stock seat for so long you are so happy with the Ultimate 14 days ain't squat. I think it was 30 days. Same placebo effect a new exhaust has, it's great when you 1st put it on then reality sets in and you find something else. No complaint about the comfort, just the fit. I'd of rather seen an exchange where you buy the seats and they send you their seats on a factory frame and then you send in your old seats in exchange and......at half the cost lets hope.

I had some trouble with mine when new also. Put the rear of the seat in first at about a 20 degree angle, push down hard on the back of seat and slide seat back at same time then push down on the front of seat to latch. The rear latch on my ultimate isn't as big as the one on the stock seat and it takes some practice the first few times putting the seat on.

well I may have mastered the art of getting the seat on. I'm not really super impressed with the quality of the seat.... hopefully the weather cooperates with me this weekend so I can find out if it's going to redeem itself in comfort.

It will I am sure. For those of you who have this problem that Ultimate Seats refuse to address, here is a cure.
You have your old seat, if you set them down side by side pan side up you can see the differences. To stop the slop put some electrical tape around the part that goes in the slot at the rear of the bike. Take a measure of the stock size and wrap until you get it about the same size maybe slightly smaller. Now do a normal install..... it still will be a lot more 'Tricky' to install as far as pushing down and getting it to clip in but it won't slide back and fourth anymore.
It's a comfortable seat, but they take advantage of the initial comfort that gets you past the warranty.
Anyone else that contacts them mention that a lot that have the seat complains about the fit, and the bolts falling out. They seriously should do something. I'm telling you they probably only have about $150 making a set of seats so they have room to do better.

I'm glad this thread was posted, I was about to spend a ton of money on Ultimate seats! I think I will take it to my local upholster who has done seats for years, and pay them instead to use my frame and memory foam.
The guy here in Green Bay, used to be the one at Sargent s in Florida (he's my X-wife's husband), now works at Green Bay Upholstery.
I think you guys saved me a bunch of money! Thanks!

I bought my Ultimate seat last summer and couldn't be happier. Yes, I have to work a little to get the seat latched, but once locked down, there is no movement. To be honest this is the first thread that I can remember with complaints about the Ultimate seat. Do a search on the numerous threads with information and comments on this seat and I think you will find pretty positive comments. Perhaps the company and product have taken a turn to the worse since I bought mine??? Any rate, I've been happy and know that many others here feel the same way. The 14 day trail period gives you an opportunity to determine if the seat fits well on the bike and your rear. I didn't notice any appreciable difference between the way the seat fit on the first day versus today. Hope this helps. Cheers!
