Last pic before paint....she's almost done. I went on a long ride with her yesterday after work and she's ready to be gunned. Gonna do her Sunday. I sure hope my eyes aren't bad and got the right color blend of paint. Only one way to find-out....

Re:Electra Glide Fairing (Final Chapter - pics) 3 Years, 2 Months ago
Well, this thread started as a question about mounting an Electra Glide fairing on a Road Star. I never imagined that it would turn into this big of a obsession. What a ride I think it only fitting that I close this thread with some HUGELY greatful thanks for this site and two people particularly. Thank you Java for your sage advice, inpiration and always pleasant thoughts as your bike was the inspiration that started it all for me. A HUGE thanks to Mackap. Man, without you, I don't think I could have even gotten started, not mentioning completing it. Well, its not totally complete, as I still have some buffing, graphics to paint and a final clearcoat. Also, the paint didn't match perfectly as I put too many purple top coats on the blue so I didn't get a good blue blead through but its good enough for me. Oh, and thanks to CoachDan for his bike and especially his tour pak for inspiration as his is similar to the Hot Rod bagger I was going after and thanks for saving me big $ with the idea of using my existing rack!! Thanks so much and you all have helped make a dream of turning the Road Star in to a Hot Rod Bagger.

Pic of the rear. Overall project ran $700. $120 for the bags, $350 for the fairing, $100 for tour pak, $100 paint, $30 sandpaper, primer, misc. I think it came out OK and happy I did it ALL myself with help from this site!
