I dunno...getting a new set of tires for free sounds pretty good...looks like its a clerical issue rather than an actual manufacturing issue.

I was expecting it to be a recall for delamination issues. I have a Road Star and a Venture. The guys here like the 880's but over at the VentureRiders there have been a lot of guys that have had the rear tire loose chunks and even caused a few wrecks. This is with air pressure checked before each ride. The front tire seems to be no problem. And Metzler's response always blames low air pressure. Maybe it's a load capacity issue?? I have no clue.
I'll just stay with my rear C/T. And when the time comes I'll mount a rear M/C tire on the front in reverse rotation.

if its just a template issue there is nothing really wrong with the tire except missmarked, well tough s--t, in todays market, how many of you want to gain at somebody's mistake? if it is not a template issue and thay put the wrong product in the tire, that could cause seperation of the treads, i would complain, wait & see, if you want to worry about the tires seperating, dont run whitewalls, i know from facts, that they are the unsafest tire made, the combine to many differant layers of producets to get that look, myself after working 18 years at michelin tire cooperation building tires for the hummer, viper, ups trucks, ford and dodge midsize and large trucks, i will never own a white letter or whitewall tire, but whatever floates your boat, jmpo KC

I just put new 880's on my bike but I don't need to worry if it's just a typo..
If it was a safty issue...well... but it's not.

No white letters eh? The best Off Road tire ever known has white letters, I have 60K miles on a set Of BFG AT's About 1000 of that was pure off road. Near as I can tell I have 30K left to go on these tires so I have no idea what white letters do to kill a tire, but I live 40 miles from Akron Ohio, I'll have to ask around, I hear they make some tires there.

Oh Crap! Make the 1500 Miles OR, I forgot I drove it out to Moab and drove it back (4000 miles) with white letter tires. Risky.

Who ordered a Hummer with Michelin tires?
