They are now available from Yamaha.

I had to space my saddle bag mounts out about 1/4" on the right side with some washers for shims to make everything even. But that was it.

I have them on my 08 R* with hard bags. I didn't have the alignment issue when installed. They lined up pretty well lined up on bothsides. Pehaps it is different with leather bags because of the flexibility. Just a thought.

I purchased the bag guards and rails from Pro Source Motorsports in IL. I found them to be quick and efficient in processing my order.
http://www.prosourcemotorsports.com/default.asp

They are two different parts:
Saddlebag Guard Kit #STR-5VN33-00-00
Saddlebag Trim Rails #STR-5VN72-70-00

Javawave, the bag guards and rails you have on your hardbags looks like just what I'm looking for. What are they and where did you get them?
Thanks!

Here you go.

STR-5VN33-00-00 Saddlebag Guard $253.44
STR-5VN72-70-00 Trim Rails $168.94

I normally order from www.yamahasportsplaza.com but had to order the saddlebag guard from www.boats.net. You can order just about any Yamaha part or accessory from boats.net but they are usually a few dollars higher. The prices shown above are from boats.net.
