What's involved in going to a single brake up front? Is it complicated? I'm not a wrench but can follow directions.

shyguy, our R*could be twins. 04 /beach sand tan. total class. 2 questions, (1) who made your rider backrest (2) why do you want to go single rotor? IMHO, the front brake isn't that strong anyway?

Hey if looks are what your after, go for it, getting rid of 50% of my front brakes would be the absolute last thing I would ever think about. Course I have been known to ride a little hard too...

its slyguy, not shyguy (LMAO)

Backrest came with my Mustang seat, which is what I have.

Regarding single rotor. I'm thinking of getting new wheels and want to show them off. I find the brakes up front are pretty strong. I know I would loose braking power by doing this, but...

You have a 1700 so you have the upgraded calipers.

SS brake line.

What's the number on the MC?

Yes ... that the number I'm looking for.

If you don't have that on the front MC (Master Cylinder) (the older ones have 5/8) then picking up a Warrior (or equivalent that fits) will help for a single setup.

yeah, I have a 14 on my master cylinder. So what's involved? Is it hard to plug the brake line to one side and remove the caliper and rotor. It can't be that simple.
