How can I find out the model of my Roadstar 3 Years, 2 Months ago
My bike was purchased used and disassembled. When i bought it all we knew is that it is a Roadstar 2005. What i am trying to find-out is...what model Roadstar is it? Silverado? Midnight? not sure....may just be a Radstar standard.

Is there a chart available that would break down the VIN number?

well silverado just meant it had the studded bags, seats and the windshield with the chrome panel on it. Midnight's have the front forks chromed on them. "standards" dont have the chrome front end or the bags. (I think that's the breakdown).

and there's some VIN info in the archives somewhere.

Yes run that, VIN is the only way to really know. I have a 2000 Roadstar, I have everything Silverado on my bike and its not a Silverado by VIN.

It only tells me the year and the model number XV1700. Does not tell me the model make. Thanks for the info at least it does confirm the year.

Okay well the bike did have saddle bags, windshield, passing lights, and the motor is black. The forks were not chrome.

The model code is on the cross member under your seat behind the battery. with that # I can tell you your type of roadstar.

The only number I could find under the seat around the battery was this one:

5VP6 020

I have the "midnight/silverado", 2005, the engine is black, the forks are chrome. It has the studded seats and hard bags. What color is your bike? I think all midnights are black, but I 'm not sure.

I found 5VP5,no 6 but shows an 05 XV1700AMTC (Ca)

Beginning vin# JYAVP17E*5A0001243. It looks to be a Roadstar Midnight Silverado buy the chart I have in the yami manuel.

hope this helps get you on the right track.

Well the bike was gold and beige and has a black motor but the forks are not chrome. It did have studded seats, leather saddle bags, rear passenger floor boards, passing lamps, Windshield so it appears to be a silverado...I guess.
