So much for riding today 3 Years, 2 Months ago
This is just so typical of my luck. lol

First warm sunny day in weeks and I roll the bike out to go for a nice leisurely ride. Head two blocks up the street to the gas station, fill up, then start heading for the edge of town. Didn't make it but a couple blocks when the rear end started feeling squishy and wiggly, so at the next stop sign I took a peak at the rear wheel and sure enough it was going flat. D@NM!

Limped her the 4-5 blocks back to the house nice and easy, then started looking over the tire. No nails, screws or other obvious causes to the problem, and I had just checked the pressure the day before. I' guessing either the tube let go or whatever punctured it didn't stick around as evidence.

Planned on getting new tires this spring anyway as these are the originals (9 years old ), but looks like my luck ran out before I could get them replaced.

Worst part is that the next 2-3 days are supposed to be real nice before it gets cold and rainy again and I'll be sidelined.

Be glad it went that easy. It could have been much worse had you been on the highway. Never run on old tires. You're asking for trouble. There will be plenty of good days coming.

Yeah, as he said. 9 year old tires are way to old. The rubber deteriorates over time. Look at it as a blessing and get yourself some new tires ASAP!!! As mentioned before, there will be many good riding days ahead!

Yeah, I know that and you know that, but the P/O obviously didn't. lol

I got the bike late last fall and knew I wouldn't get much riding in before parking it for the winter, so I put off replacing them until spring. Well, spring's here and guess what? LOL

On the bright side, once the new skins are on I won't have to worry about cleaning #@$%ing whitewalls ever again.

If you own whitewall from new and take care of them every 500 or so miles it's not that bad. I think the whitewalls look good on your bike. Just my 2 cents!

I like the look of the white walls, just hate keeping them clean. I'd much rather be riding than cleaning anyway.

Hey slezy, I have Ride-On in both tubes and I haven't lost any psi in the last month-and-a-half. Good stuff. And yeah, I like the whitewalls too. Kind of sets the scoot apart from the other motors out there.

Well, I tried the Avons Out and was 100% satisfied until I looked at the tread today, I got 16K miles on my bike, about 7K on the Avons, They were very sticky and great in Water and Ice and snow but trad life sucks so I'm going to try the Metz's Pretty soon, I won't make April with these tires.

They do say 2 years is max life for a bike tire.
