Yes to all. Beware it's spring and "they" aren't looking for us to be out yet. Had a close one this a.m. myself. Young mom in a minivan with several unrestrained kids and talking on the phone drifted into my lane (gotta do somethng about that rediculous stock horn). Ended up next to her at the next light and gave her the stare, and she was still talking on the phone. Looked at me and looked away like I was invisible. Looked like the kids were playing basketball inside the van the way it was rocking. Yep, they are out there.

exactly like Texans. I work with a lot of guys like this. I ride year round and I hear from them all "winter" saying "I can't wait for it to warm up so I can get my bike out of storage". wtf?!?! It's 60* outside and sunny! put on a friggin jacket!

Glad to hear you're ok. Had a close one yesterday too, Soccer mom in an SUV was driving up my behind and when I slowed down to get into theturning lane, heard the familiar sound of tires locking up. Guess she wasn't paying attention. Slowed down enough to let her get next to me then rang the hell out of the Cobra Drags and stared her down. Gonna have a patch made that say says "WARNING: Tailgating Bikers can be hazzardous to YOUR health!"

DJ, so glad you came out of it OK.

All the reasons I love to ride, the wind, the sound, the feeling I have on the road don't change the fact that there is nothing between me and the road, that debris or that cager coming at me. I choose not to dwell on it. I just keep my bike maintained and ride like they're all trying to kill me. Expect them to do the wrong thing and you have a chance sometimes of avoiding it.

Wise King Solomon said 'time and unforeseen circumstance befall them all." In the meantime, I need to get a louder horn. That Stebel at 130db sounds like it might work.

Ride safe. Ratl.
