Owners manual 3 Years, 2 Months ago
I did not get a owners manual w/ my new 07 and went to this site .paulmilner.com/yamaha/handbuch/handbuch.htm#roadstar I got off old posts, all I see for the 1700's is a supplement service manual which is different than a owners manual. There is a owners manual on that site for 1600's-would it be the same for the 1700's?Or am I not looking in the right spot. Thanks

Derek

The supplement is a full manual. Not really sure why they named it that

Maybe i printed the wrong one because in this "supplement manual" it does not explain thing like changing crank case oil.but in the "owners manual for the 1600's it does

I heard that the 1600 manual is the gist of it and the 1700 supplemental is what is different for the 1700. In which case you need both of them for a complete 1700 manual.

That has been my experience when using them too. I downloaded a free owners manual PDF for the 1700 a couple weeks ago, but I can't find where I downloaded it at.

Now that you have the owners manual comeing out to you, I recommend that you get the Yami service manual for your *. A lot more detailed information.

P.S. I've read that the spark plug gap in the owners manual is incorrect. If I recall correctly, there is a thread in the tech section mentioning it under how to do your valve adjustment. I believe the correct gap was .032 - .033 in. You might make a note in your manual when you get it.
