10 % ethenol---where are the reg gas staion?? 3 Years, 2 Months ago
Our roadies love the 85-87 octane--hard to find stations that don't have that sticker on the pump that says " may contain up to 10% ethanol". Maybe this post well let others know where to fuel up. VROOM VROOM ride hard but safe---Ronnie in MD

In my area it seems to be the Chevron and Exxon stations that DON'T have the Ethanol... or at least no sticker on the pump.

As far as I knew it was a federal law that they all had to switch to that for EPA reasons.
This is an interesting site, but its going to tick you off. Its the reason you think your finding Ethanol free pumps... sorry....

Heres some more good reading:

The Politics of Ethanol Fuel
The reason you're finding E10 fuel at the gas pumps is primarily because of the following U.S. government and EPA legislation:

The Clean Air Act (1990) and Alternative Motor Fuels Act (1988)

The Energy Policy Act (2005)

EPA Renewable Fuel Standard Program (RFS September 2006)
and RFS updates in 2007 and 2008
2007 update located here: nsdi.epa.gov/otaq/renewablefuels/420r07004chap2.pdf

In the town I live in, the spectrum does not have the sticker on their pump so i take it that theirs does not have ethenol it. I noticed that I do get better gas mileage with their gas so maybe it doesn't have ethenol.

Well I found a mom and pop store out in the sticks with big signs on their pumps that say "NO ETHENOL".
I asked about it and found out it was because all the farmers in that area requested it for their farm equipment.
It's about 16 cents a gallon more then the ethenol gas in the area.
I know the store owners are sincere, as to weather their supplier is I don't know.

A while back I did a paper in college about octane ratings--and it seems that the fuel all comes from the same large tank (distributor). Just depends what station they are delivering to--as far as what additives go into it. So now I'm guessing that most fuel does have the ethenol in it--and yes you will get less MPG--and the cost of corn and all corn by-products is going up. VROOM VROOM
