Mustang seats question 5 Years, 3 Months ago
I thinking about upgrading my 07 R* seat to a Mustang seat. A friend of mine upgrades his Honda VTX1300 to a Mustang seat and said it made the seat a few inches taller. My question, to someone who has upgraded to Mustang seats on their R*, is there a noticeable increase in seat height on a R* with the Mustang seat?

I have and 04 Roadstar and I love my Mustang seat. I have owned several motorcycles and I always put a Mustang seat on them. The height does change slightly, however, the comfort far outweighs the slight (about 1/4 inch) height change.

I love to know what these guys think too. I have heard from a lot of guys that the Mustang seats move you forward and if you have long legs it sucks.

At 6'2" they moved me so far forward on my 05 R* I took them off after about 20 miles and shipped them back...very comfortable on the butt but no way could I drive that far forward

Regards, Ted

Then the mustang might work Ok for you. It's people with long legs that have a problem when the seat moves them forward. I'm 6'4" and I put a Mustang on my last bike. Comfortable as could be but if I wouldn't have also put on forward controls I would have hated it.

I just installed an Ultimate Seat and my butt loves it and oh my wife is most gratefull for it also. I am 5'5" and this seat is perfect. There site is http://www.ultimateseats.ca/yamaharoadstar.html If you will notice that ebay has a lot of mustang seats available but only 1 or 2 Ultimate seat listed. Go figure!

I want to say thanks to everyone for the info they provided. No matter what question I post, I always get plenty of responses. I do not know if this is indicative of all bike forums or just the Roadstar forums, but it is nice to know that there are others out there that are willing to help.

Ride Safe!!!
