Finally getting apes put on what grips ????????? 3 Years, 1 Month ago
In the process of putting on my apes I still need to order the cables from clifford but before I do I am wondering what grips to get that will work for me the stock wont seem to work cause there is no thread on the inside. Can any one tell me what is best or is COOL look that will work? My bars are stock on the ends but 1 1/4 on the rest so they look fat.......Thanks Fifty Yet

That is kinda personal preferance... whatever kind of theme you are looking for on your bike is what I say go with... I am headed in the direction of the black and chrome contrast look so I went with the Kury ISO grips... what does your bike look like? got any pix?

I am kinda leaning that way, do any grips that say they fit a r* fit I am new to changing this stuff out and seen how the stock ones came off and am wondering how new ones stay on the bar? beens the stock ones "end" cap threaded into the bar
Thanks Fifty Yet

The throttle side mounts the same way as stock, but does not have the end to screw into the bars... the clutch side glues on... and yep, any grips that say for R* will work for the new bars... what kind of apes did you get?

Stock would have worked on mine, but I went with the Kury ISO grips as well.

The stock grips don't work on mine, at least not the left end cap. The throttle and clutch side grips fit, it is just that the thickness of the pipe the Kong Bars are made of is heavier than the stock and the left end cap won't fit in the hole. I'm still playing around trying to come up with something that won't cost me another $70 as the bike fund is getting low.
