Help on Dyan 3000 setting 3 Years, 1 Month ago
I have a 02 Roadstar Silverado that has some eng mods done. The guy I bought it from installed a set of high comp pistons and a 43 Milkium carb and the Dyan 3000. I llok at the setting and it is set at #1 on #2 through #5 off #6 on and #7 and #8 off. Now is this the right setting for my bike set up or should I have it set at some thing else. Any help you guys can give would be great.

#1-3 is your rev limit I would not worry about it to much set it at 5000 till you get your curve settings worked out. #4-6 is your timing curves #7-8 is your timing retard, There is probably no way any body can tell you if you have your ign. set right for your bike considering your mods unless someone by chance has the same set up and then theirs very possibly would be dif. Call dyna they can get you started in the right direction.Check the tech. articles there is several about the 3000 ign. that might help you. Does the bike run good like it's set? The best way to see if it is set perfect is to put it on dyno so they can set for max performance. Just my two cents Rand1965

Your rev limiter is set for 5500 rpm the is high unles you have a tach and that is the first 3 switches. I have mine set at 5500 but I never take mine over 5000 on the tach. The only reason I set it that high is I don't like the engine supttering when I hit the limiter. Switches 4 thru 6 are you curve and yur is set at 28B. Whit what you have I am not sure that is where it should be. Best bet is to call and talk to the guys a Dynajet.

Go look at this video and then look in the Tech article section here under ignition/dyna3000 there is a chart to help tell what your settings mean. yours is set for 5500 on the rev limiter and curve 28B and the retard off and you do not set the retard unless you have hard wired the TPS....B settings are for internally modified engines[Pistons cams etc.] and the A settings are for stock engines on the Curve....you may want to change settings so ride and change and figure out what runs best for you...FYI 5500 is the highest I have seen on the rev limiter on a Roadstar , it sets the limit to cut the engine down to one cylinder When the RPM limit is hit to protect the engine [I think it cuts the front one and that is why you do not hook your tach to it if you have one] hope this helps.....Coug

The guy that had the bike before me had it set up at 5500 rpm and that is pushing the the motor to the edge not good to hit the rev limiter. So I tune it down a bit I put it at 5000 since I have high comp pistons and set it to a 28b. This made it stop poping and I fell runs better.
